A Fall Message From Bsafe Online

As we say here in East Tennessee where Bsafe Online is headquartered… "Happy Fall y’all!" Isn’t this a beautiful time of year? The slow pace of summer is gone and it’s back to homework, football and soccer games…all around a hectic schedule for most. Thank goodness Bsafe is here so there is one less thing for you to worry about…online safety. And, we’re providing that peace of mind to more people than ever.

Bsafe Online has had potential customers asking when Bsafe would work with Microsoft’s new operating system. The answer is now. Our latest release does work with Vista. Bsafe compiled a list of those customers who wanted to be notified of the update. If you have friends or family who use Vista, make sure to inform them as well that they can have now have the ultimate Internet filter.

You may not realize it, but Bsafe offers more than one kind of filter. The Family Filter, available through calling our technical support team, is a much stricter option as is the "no override" filter. Both of these restrict the ability to "override" a blocked site, even with a password. Read more about the features in the Password Override article.

We’ve often said that Bsafe online is like a constant POS. But if you don’t know what POS means, you need to read our IM Slang article. It will tell you how to decipher what your child is really saying in his or her IM conversation.

If Peer 2 Peer and BitTorrent are also foreign terms to you… then read our File Sharing article. It explains more about these programs and how to sort out which are useful and legal and which are not.

A Fox news report says there are nearly 30-thousand registered sex offenders on MySpace. Scary? A little. In our article on How to use, and not be abused on MySpace, we’ll give you tips to stay safe on any social networking sites. Be sure to read and share with your teenagers!

As we’ve said for many years here at Bsafe Online, keeping families safe is our passion. So when an email arrives thanking us for keeping a 14 year-old from being a rape victim, it not only gets our attention, it makes our jobs worthwhile.

A Georgia father writes., "I just want to thank-you for telling me about Bsafe. With Bsafe's help, I managed to keep my 14yr old away from a guy who shortly after, was in the paper for raping another 14yr old. God Bless Bsafe.com."

The dad’s next email explained it further. "Looking at one of my daughter’s friend's MySpace (page), I determined that the guy she worked with, and was head over heels about was no good as his MySpace talked extensively about the joys of sex. I forbid her to go out with him, and made sure that she didn't by keeping tabs on where she was, and who she was with. When it came out in (local newspaper’s) police blotter, that the guy was being charged for sexual assault on another 14 year old girl, it only proved to my daughter that I knew what I was talking about."

Wow. That’s why we do what we do. If you have a story to share about how Bsafe has helped you or your family stay safe online, please let us know.
