Bsafe offers several options that allow each customer to tailor services to their
individual needs. This article will focus on the Password Override feature and the
Family Filter Configuration. The Password Override version allows one more flexibility
in setting up their filtering as per their needs while the Family Filter Version
removes all local control and relies on Bsafe Online to either add or remove access
to specific sites blocked by the defined categories.
Password Override Version
The Password Override version allows users to instantly make a decision to allow
access to a website that is blocked by a specific category. This Password Override
box can also give the user the opportunity to permanently allow the site (in turn
the website will be added to the always allow list for that license) or do a one
time override. This is a very important feature as it allows the parent or administrator
(with password) the ability to access a blocked site without requiring human review
from a Site Review Board. The Password Override prompt also allows the user to select
Block which will continue to Block the site. With the Bsafe Internet Filter or Security
Suite package the Password Override option is enabled by default.
You do have the ability to disable (or enable) this option :
- Double-click the Bsecure Internet Protection Services icon on your desktop or
the Bsecure lightbulb in your system tray (lower right-hand corner of your computer
screen) to open the Internet Protection Control Center.
- Click the Content Filter tab.
- Enter the administrative password
.
- Click Login.
- Click the Options link.
- Verify that the profile for the correct individual is selected in the Profile
drop-down menu near the top of the screen.
- Click on either Enable or Disable Password override as desired (located in the
lower left of the screen).
Family Filter Version
The Family Filter version allows individuals, parents, groups, or businesses to
feel confident that persons using the computer cannot override a blocked site, add
it to the allowed list or change categories. In order to add a site to their allow
list that is otherwise blocked a request must be sent to the site review team via
the mrfilter option ior by contacting customer support. Only upon their review and
Other features not available to be configured by the administrator are software
application control, profile management and the option of disabling the content
filter. While these options are disabled and not available on the Family Filter
configuration with our password Override version these options can be controlled
by the account administrator with the password.
If you are interested in changing the version you are currently using to either
gain or remove more local control please contact our Technical Support and request
the either the Password Override version or the Family Filter version.
