In an effort to better assist our customers, we have decided to spotlight five of our FAQ’s. This list displays a few of the many answers to our customer’s FAQ’s, while a complete list can be found on our Web site:

1. How do I reinstall or upgrade my Bsecure Internet Protection Services?

If you would like to make a change to your services or upgrade the amount of licenses that you can use, call Technical Support at (850) 362-4310.

If you wish to upgrade your Content filter to the most current version, please use the following steps:

  1. Visit the Web site where you signed up and first installed your Internet Protection Services.
  2. Click the Customer Login & Support or My Account link.
  3. Type your Account ID and password, and then click Log In.
  4. Locate and select the account you wish to install, and then click Download License.
  5. If prompted, select Open/Run to complete the download.
  6. When installation is complete, you will be prompted to restart your computer.

When your computer has restarted, you will see a Bsecure light bulb icon in the system tray.

2. How do I change my password?

Please use the following steps to change your password:

  1. Connect to the Internet.
  2. Double-click the Bsecure Internet Protection Services icon on your desktop or the Bsecure lightbulb in your system tray (lower right-hand corner of your computer screen) to open the Internet Protection Control Center.
  3. Click the Content Filter tab.
  4. Type your current password.
  5. Click the Profile Management link.
  6. In the Profiles drop-down list box, click (select) the profile for which you want the password changed.
  7. Click the Edit button.
  8. Type the new Password, and confirm the Password.
  9. Click OK to save your change.
  10. Click the Settings link near the top of the screen.
  11. Select the Force Upload check box.
  12. Click the Flush Cache button.
  13. Click the Re-authenticate button.
  14. Clear the Force Upload check box.
  15. Close the Internet Protection Control Center.
  16. Restart your computer.

Note: The password change will affect only the computer on which you made the change.  If you have multiple licenses, repeat the above steps on each of your computers.

3. What should I do if I forget my password?

If you know your security question and answer, you can retrieve your password online using the following steps:

  1. Double-click the Bsecure Internet Protection Services icon on your desktop or the Bsecure lightbulb in your system tray (lower right-hand corner of your computer screen) to open the Internet Protection Control Center.
  2. Click the My Account link near the top of the Control Center window.
  3. Click the My Account button.
    OR
    If you don't have the desktop or system tray icon...
    Open a Web browser to the Web site where you initially downloaded your filter and go to the Customer Login & Support or My Account link.
  4. Below the ID/ Password windows, click the link to retrieve your password.
  5. Type your User ID and click the Submit button.
  6. Type the answer to your security question and click Submit. Your password will be displayed on screen.

Note: Your ID, password, and security question/answers are case sensitive. If you have not set a security question and answer or forgotten the answer to your security question, please call technical support.

4. How do I set up an accountability password?

From the Internet Protection Control Center

  1. Double-click the Bsecure Internet Protection Services icon on your desktop or the
    Bsecure lightbulb in your system tray (bottom right-hand corner of your computer screen) to open the Internet Protection Control Center..
  2. Click the My Account link, click the My Account button, type your Account ID and Password, and then click Log In.
  3. Click Service Config, and then the Reporting link.
  4. Click the Options link to access the Reporting link and Accountability password settings.
  5. Type a password into the Accountability Password field, and then click OK.
  6. If you wish to send an accountability report link to one or more e-mail addresses, click the e-mail addresses link. (Make sure the Collect and Report option button is selected.)
  7. Use the provided box to type one or more e-mail addresses that you wish to receive the weekly accountability report links. When you have added the desired e-mail addresses, click OK to return to the main reporting screen.
  8. If you have created multiple profiles, and wish to set up accountability passwords for them, click the These settings apply to drop-down list box to select an additional profile and repeat steps 4 – 6 for each profile that you wish to customize.
  9. Click the Save Changes button to apply your settings.

5. How do I enable/disable the Content Filter?

Note: The Content Filter is enabled by default when you install the Bsafe Internet Protection Services.

To enable or disable the Content filter for all profiles:

  1. Connect to the Internet.
  2. Double-click the Bsecure Internet Protection Services icon on your desktop or the Bsecure lightbulb in your system tray (bottom right-hand corner of your screen) to open the Internet Protection Control Center..
  3. Click the Content Filter tab.
  4. Type your password.
  5. Select the Enable or Disable option button.

To enable or disable the Content filter for specific profiles:

  1. Follow the above steps 1 – 4.
  2. Click the Options link.
  3. From the Profiles drop-down list box, select the user for which you want to enable or disable content filtering.
  4. Under the Turn ON/OFF Filter heading, select the Enable or Disable option button.
